Membership
OFSET is an organisation dedicated to the development of free software for education. If you are a happy user of some of our software or if you want new features to appear in our software, you can consider becoming an active member of OFSET and providing a financial support. Another way to support us is to make donations of equipments or services through vendors.
Please, look at our Manifest and Charter, the main motivation of OFSET is clearly laid out there. The Status are the legal ground of the organisation, it is completed by the Internal Regulation which explains in detail how to become a member.
OFSET Members used to receive annually, at the subscription time, a CD-ROM containing GNU systems tailored to the education systems. The content of the CD-ROM was also determined annually.
For the subscription period from November 2004 to October 2005, the content was the following:
- A CD-ROM containing the Freeduc live-on-disk GNU system (version 1.5 for primary school) as well printed instructions to use the CD-ROM.
Many members of OFSET have now a wider access to Internet, which allows them to get this CDROM, and many others, in a few minutes (typically 20 min of downloading). So the procedure has changed: when you subscribe or renew your subscription, just send one e-mail to secretary@ofset.org and write which CDROMs you wish (currently many of them are interesting), and they will be sent to you as soon as possible.
For a member fee greater than 35 euros, the members also receive the book of Freeduc-cd 1.4 (170 pages), in French only for now.
Note, when becoming an active member of OFSET you will provide financial support for further development and you will participate to the decision process with the organisation.
To join OFSET, you have two options:
- print the Application Form and send it to OFSET;
- alternatively you can fill the on-line form.
To renew your subscription to OFSET, here are some hints:
- go to the inline membership management service,
- enventually update the informations about your account,
- send your subscription to Odile B'enassy, OFSET treasurer, 34 rue Henri Barbusse, 92220 Bagneux (FRANCE).
- you can pay inline if you have a PayPal account. If so, use the page http://members.ofset.org/payments/.
